Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing concerns over the direction the party is heading.

Atiku, who is now a key figure in the emerging opposition coalition, said his decision was informed by the “trajectory” the PDP has taken in recent times.
Our correspondent recalls that two prominent figures of PDP in kogi state; Senator Tunde Igbeha and El-Shetimah Agbogun also resigned from the party, citing similar reason.
