Former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in a London hospital, will be laid to rest on Tuesday, July 15, in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State announced the burial arrangements in a statement issued on Monday, following consultations with the late President’s family and close associates in London.
According to Governor Radda, Buhari’s remains will arrive in Katsina by noon on Tuesday, with the burial scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Daura.
“After due consultations with the family and associates of the late President in London, it has been agreed that his body will be flown to Katsina on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, arriving at noon. The burial will take place in Daura at 2:00 p.m. the same day,” he stated.
The governor extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of himself, the Katsina State Government, and the people of the state to the Buhari family and all Nigerians mourning the passing of a national icon.
