Former Kwara Governor, C.O Adebayo Die at 84

Kwara State is in mourning following the death of former Governor and Senator, Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo, who passed away on Tuesday, June 25, aged 82.

Adebayo, a respected elder statesman, was widely regarded for his integrity, statesmanship, and contributions to Nigeria’s political development.

This is contained in a message released by Legit.ng on Tuesday.

He served as the Governor of Kwara State during the Second Republic and later represented the state in the Senate.

His political career also included service as a federal minister.

Our correspondent reports that news of chief Adebayo’s death has sent shockwaves across the state and beyond, with tributes pouring in from political associates, community leaders, and citizens who remember him as a principled and visionary leader.
