The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to economic reform and inclusive development with the unveiling of a roadmap for investment-led growth at the second quarter Citizens and Stakeholders’ Engagement Forum in Abuja.

Organised by the Federal Ministry of Finance, the quarterly forum serves as a platform to review progress on presidential priorities and ministerial deliverables. It also fosters transparency, accountability, and inclusive dialogue between government and the public.

Delivering the keynote address, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, outlined key milestones achieved in the ongoing reform agenda, including stabilisation of the foreign exchange market, increased fiscal revenues, and strategic investments in key sectors.

“We are now in the third phase of our reform agenda, focused on accelerating investment-led growth that delivers jobs, reduces inflation, and lifts millions out of poverty. “Our trajectory is clear—from macroeconomic correction to national transformation,”Edun said.

He highlighted a significant increase in Nigeria’s external reserves, from under $4 billion to over $23 billion,as well as renewed investor confidence reflected in credit rating upgrades and major investments in the energy sector.

The Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, stressed the importance of public engagement in sustaining reform momentum.

“This platform enables citizens and the private sector to hold us accountable, while shaping a more responsive and transparent economy,” she said.

She reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to implementing policies that promote equitable and sustainable development.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary for Special Duties at the Ministry, Mr. Raymond Omenka Omachi, noted that inter-agency collaboration and disciplined execution remain key to achieving lasting impact.

“We are working across ministries and agencies to ensure that reforms are not just announced, but effectively implemented with measurable outcomes,” he said.

Our correspondent reports that the engagement session brought together industry leaders, civil society organisations, and development partners, all united in driving the nation’s economic transformation.

With a renewed focus on investment-driven growth and an open approach to governance, the Ministry of Finance signaled a strong intent to deliver tangible results that benefit all Nigerians.
