As preparations for the Sallah Festival intensify, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7, AIG Victor Olaiya, has ordered heightened security measures in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger State.

In a statement issued by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, ASPvHalima Mohammed, the AIG directed the police commands in the two areas to increase surveillance and boost security presence to ensure a peaceful celebration.

AIG Olaiya stressed the need for effective intelligence gathering, visible policing, and strategic deployment of personnel across key locations.

He also urged collaboration with community stakeholders to forestall any threats or disturbances.

The AIG assured residents of the zone’s commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festive period and beyond.

“Citizens are encouraged to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station,” he said.
