The Kogi Central Council of Elders has announced the passing of one of its founding and most distinguished members, Daudu Hon. Alhaji Nasir Soso, who died on May 8, 2025.
Fondly known as Mr. Integrity, the late Soso was renowned for his uprightness, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the development of the Ebira community and Kogi Central at large.
His death is described as an irreplaceable loss by the Council and the people of Kogi State.
A former elected Chairman of Okene Local Government Area, elder Soso left an indelible mark during his tenure by expanding the local government secretariat, improving public infrastructure, and fostering peace, law, and order across the area.
His active participation and invaluable contributions to the Kogi Central Council of Elders earned him great respect among his peers.
He was widely regarded as a true statesman who consistently stood for justice, development, and community progress.
In a condolence message signed by the Chairman of the Kogi Central Council of Elders, Adai Steven J. Yakubu in Lokoja and a copy available to The Reporters on Tuesday,the Council expressed deep sorrow over his passing and prayed for the repose of his soul.
“We commiserate with his immediate family, extended relations, and all citizens of Kogi Central. We pray the Almighty God to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljanatul Firdaus,” the statement read.

The Reporters reports that the deceased, who was in his 90s, died at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, and was buried in his hometown, Okene.
