Honour Your Office, Serve with Godly Fear — Pastor Sadiq Charges Christian Security Personnel

The Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Minna branch, Pastor PetRock Sadiq, has called on leaders, both elected and appointed,to view their positions as divine assignments that must be handled with understanding, reverence, and godly service.

Pastor Sadiq, speaking during the inauguration of the new executive members of the Nigerian Military Christian Fellowship (NMCF) and affiliated Christian fellowships of various military and paramilitary agencies in Niger State, emphasized that failure in leadership often stems from a lack of spiritual insight into the responsibilities attached to positions of authority.

Certainly. Here’s the sentence divided into two:

The inauguration, which took place at the church auditorium over the weekend, was a significant event for the Christian community.

It also featured the formal unveiling of Pastor Sadiq as the Patron of the Christian fellowships within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

In his message titled “Recognize, Understand, and Honour Your Office,” Pastor Sadiq said, “The most important lesson for any leader is to acknowledge that the office is bigger than the occupant.

“You must understand what it means to be trusted with leadership, and you must honour it with righteous deeds and godly fear.”

Drawing lessons from biblical figures such as Joseph, Daniel, and David, Pastor Sadiq encouraged Christian officers to see themselves as God’s ambassadors in uniform, bearing both spiritual and civic responsibilities.

“People do not honour you for who you are, but for the office you occupy. That honour should not lead to pride or intoxication, but should humble you to serve better. Authority is temporary, but accountability is eternal,” he warned.

He further stressed that genuine leadership thrives not on titles or uniforms, but on integrity, service, and the fear of God, saying, “True power lies in a heart submitted to God. Leadership without God leads to destruction, but leadership with God glorifies Him and blesses the people.”

Also speaking at the occasion, the former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State and current Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Matthias Echioda, praised Pastor Sadiq for his unwavering dedication to Christian leadership and mentorship.

“Pastor Sadiq has consistently shown that leadership is about humility, spiritual depth, and service. He has been a dependable shepherd to many of us in Niger State and beyond,” Rev. Echioda said.

He called on the newly inaugurated executives of the Christian military and paramilitary bodies to uphold their faith boldly, serve diligently, and become light bearers in their various commands.

The new 13-member executive is to serve for a three-year term, with Inspector Nanfan Irimiya Sunday as Chairman and Silas Gani as Secretary.
