In a bold and inspiring gesture of people-centered leadership, Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna Ijn, the member Representing Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to grassroots empowerment by donating his April salary and emoluments amounting to ₦2,000,000 to Egume Ward in Kogi State.
This act of generosity is part of the lawmaker’s broader initiative to invest directly in the welfare and development of the various wards that make up his constituency.
The funds were officially presented on his behalf by his Senior Legislative Aide, Hon. Achile Salihu, and Personal Assistant on Domestic Matters, Hon. Alidu Achimugu, to key stakeholders of the Egume Ward, led by the Acting ONU EGUME, Mr. Anthony Salami.
The presentation, witnessed by current and former councillors, traditional leaders, the ward party chairman, and youth representatives, was met with widespread praise.
In his remarks, Mr. Salami lauded Hon. Haruna’s exemplary leadership and dedication to inclusive governance, emphasizing that the donation would be channeled into projects that directly address the ward’s most pressing needs.
