The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Momoh, has extended humanitarian support to Mrs Soje Ogori, a widow and mother of three, whose four-bedroom home was recently razed by fire in Ogori-Mangogo.
During her visit to the scene of the tragedy, the Commissioner donated relief materials, food supplies, and financial aid to the family in a remarkable show of compassion and commitment to social welfare.
She said that the gesture is part of the state government’s broader efforts to support vulnerable citizens and promote social inclusion.
Expressing sympathy for the victim, Hajia Momoh praised the leadership of Governor Usman Ododo for creating a compassionate and inclusive governance structure.
She also commended the First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, for her relentless efforts in advancing the welfare of women and children across the state.
On behalf of the Governor and the First Lady, the Commissioner presented Mrs. Soje with a sewing machine, clothing materials, bed sheets, essential food items, and monetary support—resources aimed at enabling her to restart her tailoring business and regain financial stability.
“The support provided today is not just about relief, but about empowerment.
“We want to ensure that Mrs. Soje regains her independence and continues to provide for her children.
“The government will continue to monitor her progress and offer further assistance as needed,”Hajia Momoh emphasized.
She also appreciated the resilience and unity of the women leaders in Ogori-Mangogo Local Government Area, urging them to continue working closely with the state government to uplift their communities.
