.,,,, Vows to Combat Injustice, Abuse, Corruption

In a landmark event held in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, a new initiative has emerged in the fight for human rights and social justice.
Guard Time Information (Human Rights Advocacy Team), a coalition of legal practitioners, journalists, human rights activists, and political leaders from across Nigeria, officially launched its campaign with a powerful declaration: “All Citizens Have Equal Right”.
The organization said it is set to challenge the entrenched issues of injustice, tribalism, religious intolerance, and corruption that hinder the fundamental rights of Nigerian citizens.
Speaking at the launch, the team emphasized the belief that all Nigerians, regardless of their tribe, religion, or political affiliation, have an inalienable right to justice, equality, and freedom from oppression.
According to the statement by Guard Time Information, it is crucial that every citizen is able to exercise their rights without fear of intimidation or discrimination. This mission comes at a time when these issues continue to divide the country, fueling insecurity, human rights abuses, and widespread inequality.
The organization, which boasts a formidable roster of experts from all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, has pledged to hold accountable individuals, institutions, and government agencies that fail in their duty to protect the rights of the people.
Guard Time Information promises to take up cases of injustice, from issues of corruption in government projects to abuses such as the mistreatment of women and children, and violence across the country.
In particular, the initiative has drawn attention to the alarming rise in human rights violations in Nigeria, including the abuse of women and children, molestations, and sexual assaults.
Barristers such as Thyma Abiola and Bitrus Nuwa expressed their commitment to fighting against these violations, pledging to collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in their fight to safeguard women and children across all sectors of society.
One of the highlights of the event was the address given by the State Coordinators, including Comrade Laiye Abraham Tueridi and Barr Yakubu Alhaji Adamu, who outlined the group’s strategy for tackling the widespread failure of government contractors and agencies.
These agencies, they noted, have failed to deliver on promises to improve infrastructure in rural areas, and perpetrators of corruption in these areas will be pursued legally.
Guard Time Information also vowed to bring justice to victims of military and paramilitary abuse, along with the often-overlooked issues in schools and universities where students face exploitation, oppression, and unfair treatment.
The legal heads of Nigeria’s northern regions also committed to supporting government and security agencies in their ongoing fight against insurgency and to ensure that justice is served to those responsible for violence and instability in the region.
The launch event also recognized the contributions of various patrons, including Dr. Dauda Muhammad Atiyaye and Hon. Mohammad Bello, who praised the organization for its dedication to upholding human rights.
They called on both governmental and non-governmental organizations to support the efforts of Guard Time Information in creating a safer, fairer Nigeria.
In his address, Guard Time Information Chairman Comdr Bibi Oduku stated that the organization would also focus on investigating violations within educational institutions and healthcare sectors.
“We will ensure that hospitals, schools, and industries are held accountable for their treatment of Nigerians and that human rights violations are swiftly addressed,” Oduku said.
With a passionate group of female barristers like Barr Elizabeth Omearebu and Barr Meibe Damba leading the charge on gender-based abuses, Guard Time Information’s campaign for equal rights is poised to make significant strides in tackling the systemic injustices that have plagued Nigeria for too long.
As the organization grows, it promises to be a critical voice in the fight for the protection and enforcement of human rights, offering support to those suffering from violence, discrimination, and corruption, and ensuring that justice prevails for all citizens, regardless of their background or status.
