The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf Okunrin Jeje, the 12th Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin Emirate.
In a statement released on Sunday in Ilorin by his Chief Press Secretary, Sheu Abdulkadir Yusuf, Danladi-Salihu described the late Balogun Ajikobi as a revered leader whose wisdom and contributions to the Ilorin Emirate would be greatly missed.
“The passing of Alhaji Okunrin Jeje has created an irreplaceable void in the Ilorin Emirate.
On behalf of the Kwara State House of Assembly, I extend my deepest condolences to our father, the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Ajikobi family, and the entire Ilorin Emirate.
May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanat Firdaus,” the Speaker said.
Danladi-Salihu also conveyed his sympathies to the Ilorin Emirate Traditional Council and the people of Kwara State, highlighting Alhaji Okunrin Jeje’s vital role as a guardian of tradition and a unifying force within the community.
Appointed by the Emir of Ilorin in 2019, the late Balogun Ajikobi was renowned for his unwavering dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of the emirate.
His death marks the end of a significant era, leaving behind a lasting legacy of leadership and service that will be remembered for generations.
