As part of efforts to drum support for the renewed hope initiative of Tinubu administration, some coalition Groups have launched schemes to promote sustainable Agriculture in Nigeria.
Addressing Newsmen in Enugu, South East Nigeria on Wednesday,
Amb Jonathan David Okwudiri, the Chairman Board of Trustees, and Director General of the Royal Ambassadors Family Enlightenment Foundation (RAFEF), Green Revolution Farmers Feed the Nation Foundation (GRFFNF), and Young Women Rise Empowerment Initiative (YWREF), extended his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his visionary Renewed Hope Agenda, which aligns with the organization’s mission to empower women, youth, and promote sustainable agriculture.
“We commend his administration’s efforts to reposition Nigeria as a prime global investment destination and pledge our unwavering support for policies geared towards making Nigeria a haven on earth”, Okwudiri noted.
“Moreso, I would like to express my gratitude to the Media for your tireless efforts in promoting the work of Non- Governmental Organizations like ours . Your support is invaluable and we appreciate your presence here today” .
Amb Okwudiri stated, “As you may know, our tripod organizations are dedicated to empowering women and youth, promoting sustainable agriculture, and reducing poverty in Nigeria. Our membership strength has grown to over 1 million people, comprising women and youth from the 774 Local Government Areas across the 36 states of Nigeria, including the FCT Abuja”.
According to him, “Over the past year, we have achieved several milestones. We have successfully trained over 1,000 women and youth (Persons with Disability Inclusion) in various skills acquisition programs, provided scholarships to 9 students, and gifted items to over 200 students in a government secondary school in Aba, Abia State. We have also trained 15 youths in talent hunts and capacity development, registered business names for 7 women and youth, and established them as independent entrepreneurs”.
In addition, we have registered the Royal Ambassadors Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited in major states across the six regions of Nigeria and acquired over 150,000 hectares of farmland across various states in Enugu, Anwar, Imo, Delta, and Abuja respectively. We have also launched Operation Feed The Nation, aimed at reducing hunger, hardship, and poverty in Nigeria through sustainable agricultural farming and food security.
“This year, 2025, and beyond, Sustainable Agricultural Farming and Food Security remain our organization’s top priority. To achieve this, we are seeking funding from agencies and financial institutions, both nationally and internationally, to partner with us in cultivating the 150,000 hectares of land in mechanized agricultural farming”, Okwudiri stated.
“This initiative will not only reduce unemployment in Nigeria but also provide employment opportunities for over 500 people in the Farm Settlement. Furthermore, it will drastically reduce hardship and hunger in the land to their nearest minimum”, he assured.
As we look to the future, we are seeking partnerships and sponsorships to support our initiatives. We are calling on the Presidency, National Assembly, Federal and State Ministries, Corporate Organizations, Philanthropists, Donors, and International Funding Agencies to partner with us.
Specifically, we are seeking financial assistance to host a 5-Day Royal Ambassadors Gathering Week Abuja 2025, themed “Building Global Partnership for Sustainable Impact, Innovations, and Development.” This Prestigious International Conference will be held at Maryam Babangida National Center for Women Development, Abuja.
We are also seeking support to empower 1,000 women and youth with tools, materials, and equipment to commence operations in their businesses. Furthermore, we are seeking partnerships to purchase equipment and materials, including laptops, generators, photocopying machines, scanners, desktops, and computers, as well as agricultural farming seedlings, tools, and equipment.
According to him, “We believe that our initiatives align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)”.
Amb Jonathan David Okwudiri also expressed gratitude to their partners, sponsors, and supporters. “We look forward to working together to empower women, youth, and promote sustainable agriculture, thereby contributing to the actualization of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda”, Okwudiri concluded.
