The Magongo Development Association (MDA) has expressed gratitude to its branches, both at home and abroad, as well as age groups, traditional rulers, youths, and individuals, for their unwavering support toward the development of the Magongo community.
In a New Year message shared with The Reporters in Lokoja on Thursday, MDA President Prince Jordan Alaba Akpata auded the collective efforts of stakeholders in advancing the community’s progress.
Prince Akpata urged branches and affluent individuals to contribute toward the association’s 2025 Owiya Osese initiatives, which include constructing public toilets and renovating the Magongo police post.
He also emphasized the importance of unity and encouraged community members to avoid rumors and speculation, focusing instead on supporting the Ododo-led government to ensure the community reaps more of the benefits of democracy.
The MDA president praised the association’s executives for their dedication and sacrifices, which have fueled community development efforts.
He also congratulated the Ogori Descendants Union’s leadership, advocating for greater collaboration between the two primary groups in Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area, Kogi State.
He said his call for unity and support represent a hopeful tone for the year ahead, and promised that the association would continue to work to strengthen community ties and drive sustainable progress.
“As I lead the MDA, I pledge accountability, development-focused initiatives, and an open-door policy to welcome constructive criticism that will enhance our mission to improve Magongo,” Prince Akpata declared.
