Kogi State made history on Sunday with its inaugural Christmas Carol Service and Festival of Praise, an event that showcased the state’s commitment to unity and religious tolerance.

Hosted by the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the celebration took place at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, drawing a diverse crowd of Christians and non-Christians alike.

Themed “Jesus Reigns,” the carol service marked a significant milestone as the first of its kind in the 30-year history of Kogi State.

The Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade Arike, hailed the event as a testament to the administration’s dedication to fostering unity among the state’s multi-religious population.

Governor Ododo’s government has actively championed inclusivity and mutual respect, with the carol service serving as a flagship initiative to promote harmony.

The gathering featured inspiring sermons by prominent clerics, including Evangelist Isaac Omolehin and Pastor Rotimi Nathaniel of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (Region 24), both of whom emphasized love, compassion, and the true essence of the Christmas season.

The event was graced by government officials, Christian leaders, and other dignitaries, reflecting a broad consensus on the importance of unity and shared values.

Governor Ododo’s efforts to unite Kogi State’s diverse communities have earned him widespread admiration.

Under his leadership, the state has embraced initiatives that encourage coexistence and understanding among people of different faiths.

As Kogi State celebrates this historic moment, many have described Governor Ododo as a unifying force, continuing the legacy of progress set by his predecessor, Yahaya Adoza Bello.

With this groundbreaking carol service, Kogi State has set an example of how diversity can be a strength, especially during the festive season.
