The Police Command in Kwara State, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, has successfully apprehended Mohammed Bello, known as “Dandolo,”said to be a notorious kidnapper allegedly linked to multiple criminal activities across Kogi and Kwara States.
This is contained in a statement in Ilorin on Thursday, signed by DSP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO for the command on behalf of the Commissioner of Police,CP.Victor Olaiya Bello.
The Police Commissioner said that the arrest was sequel to intelligence gathered from Egbe, Kogi State, revealing that Bello had fled to Patigi, Kwara, to avoid capture.
According to him the suspect, who is implicated in several kidnappings in Egbe, Isanlu, and surrounding areas, has confessed to crimes along major routes, including the Omu-Aran-Ilofa-Osi-Eruku-Egbe road in Kwara and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
“The operation involved extensive surveillance and searches, with Bello being apprehended after a thorough sweep of several locations, including hotels in Patigi.
He is now in custody with the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Ilorin for further investigation.
“Lieutenant Isah of the Nigerian Army’s Forward Operation Base in Egbe played a crucial role in the successful operation,” he said.
The Police Commissioner assured the public that a thorough investigation would be followed to ensure justice is served urging the people to continue providing valuable information to the police in helping to combat crime and improve safety in the state.
