The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed, has urged corps members to view their service year as a time for self-reflection and future planning.

Addressing the 2024 Batch C, Stream 2 corps members during their orientation at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Yikpata,on Tuesday ,Kwara State, General Ahmed emphasized the need for corps members to focus on personal development and avoid distractions.

“The NYSC scheme offers you a platform to unlock your potential. Use this year to reflect on your life and aspirations. Avoid frivolities and stay focused,” he advised.

He also cautioned against unauthorized travel, highlighting the dangers involved. “Travel only when necessary and during daylight hours,” he warned.

The DG encouraged corps members to participate fully in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, urging them to acquire at least two skills during their service. He noted that NYSC has partnered with various organizations to provide funding opportunities for those interested in entrepreneurship.
