Okene,a historic town in the Central Senatorial District of Kogi State, north central Nigeria,came alive on Saturday as proud sons and daughters of Egbiraland gathered at the majestic Palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Mohammed Tijani Anaje, to celebrate the 2024 World Ohiku Day Convention.

Our correspondent reports that the event, organized by the Ohiku Egbira Descendants Union (OEDU), was a dazzling display of cultural pride and unity, bringing together Egbira patriots from across Nigeria and beyond.

The convention, a symbol of solidarity and heritage, drew participants from Edo, Plateau, Nasarawa, and Kogi States and beyond, showcasing the deep roots and widespread influence of the Egbira people in Nigeria and beyond the shores of the country.

The colorful celebration featured traditional dances, storytelling, and cultural displays that stressed the rich legacy of the Egbira community and their significant contributions to Nigeria’s socio-economic and political landscape.

The Palace grounds buzzed with excitement as attendees mingled, shared stories, and celebrated their shared heritage.

The event not only reinforced cultural bonds but also served as a reminder of the unity and resilience that define the Egbira people.

From the rhythmic beats of the drums to the vibrant attire that adorned participants, the 2024 World Ohiku Day Convention was a true testament to the enduring spirit and pride of Egbira nation.
