He stated this when he received members of the chapel in his office in Lokoja on Friday who said him a courtesy visit.
The coordinator described sharp practices, such as under-dispensing, among others, as detrimental to the current economic hardships faced by motorists, noting that
that such actions only added to the burden on the public.
He assured the Chapel that his organization had been proactive in addressing these issues,. adding that those responsible for such practices had been arrested and fined appropriately, serving as a deterrent to others who might consider following their example.
The coordinator described such sharp practises as under dispensing among others , a development,he noted usually add burden to the current economic hardships on motorists.
He assured the chapel that his organization had been up and doing, adding that culprits in that regard were arrested and given appropriate fines to serve as deterrent to others who may want to follow their footstep.
Engr. Orits described members of the Chapel as thorough professionals with an enviable pedigree. He praised their skills and expertise, highlighting the valuable role they play in the industry.
He urged federated chapel members to use their proficiency to increase publicity around the activities of NMDPRA in the state,expose such corruption tendencies and bring to the notice of his organization for prompt response.
He revealed that Kogi State has not experienced any gas explosions resulting in loss of life over the past year, attributing this to the proactive strategies implemented by NMDPRA.
He said these strategies, which have been continuously evolving, focused on enhancing safety protocols and mitigating risks associated with gas-related incidents.
According to Engr.Orits NMDPRA’s, the ongoing efforts to monitor, regulate, and enforce safety standards have played a critical role in preventing such disasters, ensuring that the state remains free from fatal gas explosions,despite the inherent risks in the sector.
On his the recent award given to him by the kogi State government for excellent performance in service delivery, he thanked the government for the recognition,assuring that it would spur him and his subordinates to enhance effort in the discharge of their duties.
Recalling his activities beyond his official responsibilities, Engr. Orits, who described himself as an entertainment enthusiast, said that he had played a significant role in the success story of the Kogi State contestant in the Miss Nollywood competition,helping her emerge as the champion.
Engr. Orits stated that he has also supported bright but underprivileged students in the state to achieve their educational goals by providing them scholarships and other forms of assistance, as part of his effort to bring financial relief to both the students and their parents.
Earlier in his address, the chairman of the Chapel, Mr. Abu Mike, commended Engr. Orits for the outstanding work he has been doing both as the coordinator and on a personal level.
He praised Engr. Orits for result-, orientated leadership and ensuring that motorists are not exploited by fuel dealers in the state, as well as for his contributions to education and entertainment.
Abu informed the coordinator that the Federated Chapel, with 18 members, is one of the chapels of the Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
He added that Federated Chapel members maintain strong grassroots connections, which enhance their coverage of socio-economic and political events in the state.
The chairman assured Engr. Orits of the full support of the Chapel members in helping him enhance his duties in the state.
