The Kogi State Government has honored the Nigeria Mainstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) with an Award of Excellence for its exceptional service and contributions to the state, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

The award was presented by Dr. Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, on behalf of the state government to Engr. Ogbe Orits Godwin, the Kogi State Coordinator of NMDPRA.

The state government commended NMDPRA for its vital role in ensuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum products, especially during the recent floods that threatened the state’s fuel availability. “Fuel is the lifeblood of the nation. Without it, Kogi would face significant challenges, from transportation to the movement of essential goods,” said Dr. Ayoade.

In his response, Engr. Godwin thanked Governor Ododo for his exemplary leadership and support, which has helped in the agency’s success. He reiterated NMDPRA’s commitment to maintaining steady fuel supply for the people of Kogi State.

Engr. Godwin also highlighted NMDPRA’s efforts in addressing and preventing fraudulent practices by petroleum marketers in the state, urging the public to report any such activities to the agency.

He expressed gratitude to NMDPRA’s Executive Director, Engr. Farouk Ahmed, for his steadfast support to the Lokoja field office, as well as to Ogbugo K. Ukoha, Executive Director of Distribution System Storage and Retailing Infrastructure (DSSRI), and Mrs. Maijiddah S. Abdulkadir, North Central Coordinator, for their dedication in ensuring smooth operations of the agency in Kogi.

The award ceremony was also a moment of celebration for the NMDPRA staff in Lokoja, who gathered to commemorate their collective efforts, which culminated in this prestigious recognition.
