One of the founding members of ABU Alumni Association, kogi state branch, Hon. Abdulkareem Allah Dey is dead.
Family sources told our correspondent that Allah Dey died on Wednesday in Lokoja at 65 years during a long battle with an illness.
The deceased was also a one time member, Kogi State House of Assembly,where he represented Lokoja 1 Constituency.
Reacting to the sad incident in a telephone interview with our correspondent,the chairman of ABU Alumni Association, kogi state branch, Engr. Mohammed Sagir, described the deceased as a very humble person.
He expressed regret that Allah Dey’s death is not a big loss to his(deceased’s)family but also to him as his friend, acknowledging that the late Allah Dey was his mentor.
Sagir recalled that even in the battle with illness, Allah Dey still attended some of the monthly meetings of the association,an indication that of his avowed commitment to ensuring the growth of the branch.
Sagir prayer Almighty Allah to grant Allah Dey aljanah firdaus and his family as well members of ABU Alumni Association, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Other residents of Lokoja who spoke with our correspondent on the issue, bemoaned Allah Dey’s passage.
“We are left with only memories of a man whose absence will create an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew him.
“The world has lost a great soul, and we are left to mourn, holding onto the hope that his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched,”Mal. Mohammed Abdullahi told The Reporters in a telephone interview in Lokoja.
The Reporters gathered that the deceased has been buried in Lokoja according to Islamic injunction.
