The National Youth for Women Empowerment and Education in Nigeria, a non-governmental organization (NGO), expressed confidence in the ability of Dr. Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, to effectively address insecurity in Nigeria.
During an entrepreneurship training for women held in Abuja on Monday, the NGO’s National Coordinator, Mr. Ibrahim Ibrahim, said the conviction of the NGO is based on Matawalle’s notable achievements in enhancing national security.
Ibrahim praised the minister for several of key accomplishments, including advancements in aerial defense, improved military cooperation, modernization of military arsenal, strengthened maritime borders, enhanced cybersecurity, better welfare for veterans, and increased military funding.
He also noted the enactment of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) bill, which aims to further boost the nation’s defense capabilities.
“After all, these accomplishments speak louder than words. This gentleman embodies the spirit of John F. Kennedy’s words: ‘Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,’” Ibrahim said.
He also acknowledged Matawalle’s dedication to Nigeria’s development.
Ibrahim commended President Bola Tinubu for keeping Matawalle in his cabinet, expressing optimism that this leadership would help restore security and allow farmers to return to their land, bringing normalcy back to the nation.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the NGOto empowering Nigerian women through skill acquisition and entrepreneurship training.
On the aims and objectives of the NGO, Ibrahim said: “This initiative ensures that women receive the necessary empowerment and education to unlock their political and economic potential.
“It also enables women to meet personal and family needs while contributing to the country’s socio-political and economic development.
Contributoring,Mrs. Aishat Yakubu, another participant, echoed the importance of security.
“May the insecurity in our country be a thing of the past,soon, so that our businesses can thrive without fear,” she prayed.
