FEC Merges Ministries & Commissions..

The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved the merger of the Niger Delta Ministry and the scrapping of Ministry of Sports Development.

The Special Adviser to President on Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this on his X account on Wednesday.

“There will now be a Ministry of Regional Development to oversee all the regional development commissions, such as Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission , North East Development Commission.

“The National Sports Commission will take over the role of the Ministry of Sports.

“The FEC also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.

“The decisions were taken today at the meeting of Federal Executive Council in Abuja.”

Meanwhile, the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Tinubu has sacked five Ministers.

The ministers affected are: Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs,Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism, Prof Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education,Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development according to Onanuga.

Shehu Dikko has been appointed as Chairman of the National Sports
Commission, Sunday Akin Dare as Special Adviser to the
President on Public Communication and Orientation working from the
Ministry of Information and National Orientation,” the Presidency said.
