Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has officially launched the construction of the 19.55km Obajana-Uro-Aku rural road in a landmark move towards enhanced infrastructure and agricultural development of the state.

This initiative also aims to ease transportation for Kogi State’s farmers and improve access to markets and services in rural communities.

During the flag-off ceremony on Wednesday at Obajana-Uro Junction, Governor Ododo expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support for Kogi State.

He emphasized the project’s potential to alleviate hardships faced by local farmers.

The governor said,”It is with a deep sense of fulfillment that I stand here today to flag off the construction of the 19.55km Obajana-Uro-Aku road under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).”

Our correspondent gathered that the project is being implemented by the Kogi State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (Kogi-RAAMP) in partnership with the State Ministry of Rural and Energy Development.

Governor Ododo expressed his administration’s dedication to rural-focused governance, setting the road to boost economic opportunities, enhance accessibility, and support the movement of goods and services between rural and urban areas.

Kogi State Commissioner for Rural and Energy Development, Hon. Engr Mohammed Abdulmutalib, commended Governor Ododo for his commitment to community welfare.

He explained that the new road would provide residents with improved access to markets, healthcare, and educational facilities, while also announcing the upcoming launch of five additional rural roads totaling 65.25km across Kogi State.

With Governor Ododo’s leadership, Kogi State is positioned for transformative growth, and this project marks the beginning of an era of unprecedented development.
