Nigeria’s Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development is set to partner with the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) to advance infrastructure development through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) approach. Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo made the announcement on Monday at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja during a meeting with ICRC’s management team.
The Minister Keyamo emphasized that PPP is essential for Nigeria’s infrastructure progress and announced plans to establish a task force dedicated to fast-tracking the collaboration.
He noted that since taking office, he has resolved several ongoing legal issues and encouraged ICRC to adhere to all legal protocols for Public-Private Partnership efforts.
Expressing appreciation for ICRC’s initiative, the Minister reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
ICRC’s Director-General, Dr. Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh, commended the Minister’s achievements in the aviation sector and explained that the meeting aimed to secure the Ministry’s support for ICRC’s infrastructure goals.
Dr. Ewalefoh emphasized that the Aviation Ministry is crucial for driving the nation’s economic growth and noted that ICRC has streamlined administrative processes to ensure efficient project execution.
He noted the importance of PPP to address Nigeria’s infrastructure challenges, stating that improved infrastructure will attract more investors and strengthen the aviation sector. “This is the time to advance aviation infrastructure, and we commend President Tinubu for his commitment to this goal,” Dr. Ewalefoh said.
