The level of water on River Niger and Benue in Lokoja, kogi state, north central Nigeria on Saturday, September 28,2024 captured by our correspondent.

The high level of water at the river notwithstanding, residents of Lokoja, interviewed by our correspondent, especially those living at the bank of the river, are prayerful and hopeful that 2024 will not witness devastating flood in Lokoja.

Others said they combined faith and proactive measures to enable them navigate their ways by relocating to safe places in case flood erupts.
Nimet and similar agencies have warned residents close to the river in Nigeria to move to high places, to avoid being taken unawares during flood.
