Pharm.Mrs. Nduka Chikodi a pharmacist based in Lokoja, Kogi State, north central Nigeria, has advised the public to make lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and related health issues.

She gave the advice in her health education series that focused on coronary heart disease, or ischemic heart disease, available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Saturday

Pharm Chikodi emphasized the importance of quitting smoking, noting that it as one of the leading causes of the condition.

The Pharmacist further advised:“If you smoke, it’s crucial to quit.

“Eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, and high-fiber foods while avoiding excessive sugar and fatty foods.

“Engaging in physical activity, aiming for 30 to 60 minutes of walking or exercise most days of the week.

“Working towards weight loss if overweight.

“Regular exercise can help reduce weight, lower blood pressure, and control blood sugar levels.”
