The Kogi State House of Assembly has confirmed Justice Henry Adebola Olusiyi, a former Chief Judge of the state, as the new Chairman of the State Anti-Corruption Commission.
Our correspondent reports that his confirmation followed a screening process conducted during a plenary session of the House, on Thursday,after being nominated by Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
During the screening, Justice Olusiyi assured the lawmakers that he would apply his extensive experience to his duties and perform them impartially.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for establishing the Commission and pledged to meet the expectations placed upon him.
Speaker Right Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, who led the Committee of the Whole session, urged Justice Olusiyi to leverage his experience effectively in his new role.
On Tuesday, Governor Ododo had submitted a letter to the House requesting the confirmation of Justice Olusiyi, along with Dauda Onimisi Bello, proposed for Director of Operations, and Dr. Tseija Azubuju Seidu, proposed for Director of Administration.
The House has scheduled a separate date for the screening of Bello and Seidu.
