Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged all residents, regardless of political affiliation, to join forces with his administration to elevate the state’s economic and infrastructural development.
Speaking at a grand reception in Government House Lokoja on Wednesday, held in celebration of his Supreme Court victory, Governor Ododo highlighted Kogi State’s vast mineral resources. He emphasized that these resources can only benefit the state if its citizens remain united and supportive of his administration.
“I am calling on everyone to work with us to advance Kogi State. This is our home, blessed with significant mineral wealth. I urge everyone to support my administration so we can serve the state more effectively,” Ododo said.
He praised the APC’s philosophy of development and expressed his openness to advice, seeking cooperation to transform the state into a model for others.
Governor Ododo also called for support for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, noting that the President is implementing measures to revitalize the national economy and alleviate hardship.
He acknowledged the contributions of the former governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for establishing a solid foundation for his administration. Ododo committed to focusing on the welfare of Kogi State’s residents, pledging to honor the trust placed in him by the electorate.
Earlier, APC Chairman Abdullahi Bello urged Governor Ododo to be magnanimous in victory and consider allowing former party members, who had left before the governorship election, to return. Bello congratulated Ododo and expressed confidence that he would fulfill the public’s expectations now that the legal disputes have been resolved.
