He recalled that on August 18,2024, a raid on a criminal enclave in Takum LGA led to the arrest of suspected kidnapper David Musa, who is linked to a kidnap kingpin known as Ephraim, or “SKIN THE BODY.” Musa is currently under investigation.
“Following this, on 20 August 2024, suspected gunrunners James Nuhu and Dan-Asabe Ango were apprehended in Wukari LGA.
“Both suspects admitted involvement in multiple crimes, identifying Ibrahim Philemon as their arms supplier. A subsequent operation at Philemon’s residence yielded a large cache of ammunition and weapons.
“Troops also arrested seven suspects along Road Chikai – Bantaji Market in Wukari, involved in kidnapping and cattle rustling, and confiscated illegal firearms.
“Additionally, arms trafficker Isyaka Yusuf was detained at Bantaki Market, and two more suspects, Muhammad Usman and Abdulqadir Sule, were arrested along Wukari – Ibi Road with mobile phones, motorcycles, and cash,”he said.
In another operation, troops arrested Tiv Militia members Fidelis Nyitar and Isaiah Ioraa along Road Takum – Katsina Ala.
They were enroute to procure supplies for militia operations. On 21 August 2024, Mela Selim, a suspected Tiv Militia kingpin, was arrested for the murder of the Chief of Chanchangi.
While patrolling Lissam in Ussa LGA, troops successfully repelled a terrorist ambush, recovering weapons and motorcycles.
The commander of 6 Brigade commended the public for their support and urged continued cooperation to ensure lasting peace in the state, according to the acting assistant director.
