The newly established Kogi Unity Movement (KUM) has called on members to unite as a single entity, focused on achieving shared goals for their collective benefit and for Kogi State.

During a session with members in Lokoja on Tuesday, the movement’s founder, Alhaji Abdullahi Ubeida, emphasized that KUD was created not for political, tribal, religious, or divisive reasons, but to advocate for the social and economic welfare of its members through unity.

Ubeida, who also serves as Group Managing Director of Saninif Groups, said the movement aims to bring together people from the three Senatorial districts of Kogi State, regardless of cultural or traditional differences, to focus on common interests.

“We must unite to pursue a common goal for our own self-fulfillment and for the benefit of the state as a whole,” Ubeida said.

He revealed that KUD would soon distribute forms to authenticate membership, adding it has been registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, making it as a legal entity.

According to him, with a foundation built on resilience, love, and unity, KUD aims to advocate for government programmes that address the social and economic needs of its members.

The movement, the founder also encouraged members to support each other’s businesses through patronage and take an active role in their collective development.
“When you patronize the business of a member in this group and and he or she does same to yours’or we rejoice with one another, this will bring the much unity and economic development to us as individuals and our group as a whole,” the founder said.

Let’s fnd something positive in each member’s behaviour, build the world around it, and protect each other’s interests. If we commit to these principles into practice, the movement will grow and achieve greater success, according to our dream,” Ubeida further urged.
He, however, warned members to steer away from corrupt tendencies, adding that he would not be part of such negative action.

In an interview with The Correspondent after the interactive meeting, the interim chairman of the movement Mal. Aliyu Yussuff noted that KUD was founded in early 2024, with members representing all three Senatorial districts of the state.
