The initiative, launched at the NASENI Skill Acquisition Centre in Ife Federal Constituency, is part of efforts to empower young people with practical skills.
According to a statement by Chima Akwaja, Deputy Director at NASENI, the three-day intensive training began on Monday, July 8, 2024, and will conclude on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The programme aims to equip participants with hands-on experience in modern techniques of tailoring and shoemaking.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Engr. Dr. Olayode Adesola Olasupo, representing Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NASENI. In his address, Dr. Olasupo highlighted NASENI’s role in fostering a robust science and engineering infrastructure to promote indigenous industrialization in Nigeria.
