The coordinated effort against criminal elements in Kogi State escalated on Thursday as Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo equipped 1,050 hunters with essential tools to enhance their effectiveness in the field.
The decision to enlist rural security outfits and engage hunters stemmed from their brave and skilled actions during the rescue operation that resulted in the liberation of 29 out of 31 students from the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, the governor said.

Governor Ododo commended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for consistently supporting his administration’s efforts to improve security in Kogi State. He also praised the heads of security agencies in the state for effectively training recruited hunters.
