CICDL,Summit University Offa Graduates 1st Set.

The Centre for Islamic, Cultural and Digital Learning (CICDL), Summit University, Offa, has successfully graduated its first set of students on Wednesday, 15th May, 2024 at a ceremony held at ADSN Central Mosque, Quarry, Road, Abeokuta.

The Center was established to offer short certificate courses on Arabic, Islamic and Quranic recitation with tajweed; preliminary programmes for Direct Entry admission; and professional and digital skills.

The Centre is also to serve as a Liaison Office for the purpose of responding to admission requests and inquiries into Summit University,Offa and other matters relating to the University.

In furtherance of the vision of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.Abiodun Musa Aibinu, Dr.AbdulGaniy Salman was appointed as the pioneer coordinator for the take-off of the Center in January 2024.

The acting coordinator of the Centre, Dr. Abdul Ganiy Salman coordinated admission of students who enrolled into the three months certificate courses in Learning Quran with Tajweed and Arabic Conversation and Writing.

The intensive courses exposed students to different theoretical and practical classes which eventually ended with examination.

The Centre offers a new paradigm for acquisition of knowledge in Arabic and lslamic Studies.

In his speech at the graduation ceremony, Dr. Salman admonished the graduands to see the occasion as a moment of introspection and reflection. He congratulated the graduands for successfully going through the process of learning with commendable enthusiasm and committment.

He thanked the entire members and officials of ADSN Ogun State Council and Abeokuta Quarry Road Branch for their generous donation of class room furniture and publicity sign boards during the course of the programme. He added that the unflinching and unwavering support to the Centre is partly instrumental to the stellar achievement recorded.

The representatives of ADSN Ogun State Council and Abeokuta Quarry Road Branch who turned out enmass for graduation ceremony expressed profound gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Management of Summit University, Offa and Dr. Salman for coming up with such an innovative center.

A total of 20 students were awarded certificates at the graduation ceremony.
