Kogi Poly rector loses brother, management, others commiserate.

The Management of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has commiserated with the Rector, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, over the passage of his brother, Mallam Idris Usman.

Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja disclosed this in a statement she sent to The Reporters in Lokoja on Wednesday.

According to her, Mallam Idris Usman died on Tuesday, 30 April 2024, after a protracted illness.

He has been laid to rest according to Islamic rites in Ankpa, Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Dignitaries from different walks of life gathered to pay their final respect to the departed soul.

The Deputy Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Samuel Taiwo Olowo, led the Polytechnic’s Management, staff, and students to express their deepest sympathy to Dr. Usman and his family.

Also at the burial were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Federal University, Lokoja, Prof. M. S. Audu, the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences of the University, Professor S. D. Musa, former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, Prof. Sanni Momoh, Prof. Abdullahi Yusuf of the Federal University, Lokoja, member representing Ankpa 1, Constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawal Akus, Care taker Chairman, Ankpa Local Government, Engineer Mohammed Adamu, Former Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Momoh Rabiu Alfa and Provost and members of Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, Dr. M. K. Ibrahim.

Top government officials and traditional rulers, amongst other prominent figures of the community, were also at the burial.

The chief Imam of Ankpa Local Government, Shiekh Salman Adam, conducted the funeral ceremony, offering prayers for the forgiveness and mercy upon the deceased.
