Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, north central Nigeria,has slated Thursday, April 25,2024 for
its first inaugural lecture, taking place in its Lokoja campus in the state capital, according to the authorities of the institution.
Our correspondent reports that the occasion is the first of its kind since the establishment of the institution in 1993.
The history of the Polytechnic shows that it was established in December 1992 by the 1st and 2nd Executive Governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu of the blessed memory.
The Polytechnic actually took off in January 1993 at the then Government Science Secondary School, Lokoja and Osara Campus with Dr. Isa I.A. as the first Rector, according to Google record.
Though the Osara campus of the polytechnic remains,the institution now has its permanent site at Felele,a suburb of Lokoja.
The historic lecture, which has as its topic,”Manpower resourcing and productivity in the public sector.
The cacophony of paradox,” will be delivered by Dr.Joel Akowe, a product of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and University of Nigeria,Nsukka.
In the statement from the Polytechnic, the Reactor,Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, urged members of the public to attend the occasion which will take place as from 2.30 p.m.at the permanent site of the institution.
