New AEDC Regional Manager promises improved, equitable power supply in Kogi..

,,, Let bills reflect customers’ consumption,provide transformers, prepaid meters, Lokoja LGA urges Disco.

The new Regional Manager of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Kogi State, Engr. Michael Meliga, has assured Lokoja residents of equitable power supply.

He gave the assurance when he visited the Caretaker Chairman of Lokoja local government, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, on Tuesday in Lokoja.

Engr. Meliga, therefore ,appealed to the people of Lokoja to extend hands of fellowship and cooperation given to his predecessors to him.

He stated that the visit was to familiarize with the local government council, adding that he believed it is customary to forge a good relationship with the government, traditional institutions and all the stakeholders to enable him and his team deliver.

“The power sector is presently facing challenges, mostly from the generation, system instability and this has affected our services to the end users,” he explained.

He further assured of AEDC’s commitment to improved service delivery.

Responding,the Director of Local Government Administration, Hon. Musa Aliyu Omuwa, who received the Manager and his team, commended him for the initiative to visit critical stakeholders in the local government.

He urged the new regional manager to see the services of these stakeholders as a critical factor in boosting the local government and the state’s economy, hence the need to ensure equitable power supply.

Comrade Adamu,who thanked the AEDC management for the courtesy visit, urged the regional manager to collaborate with relevant stakeholders and community leaders for the success of his assignment and for mutual benefit.

He urged the DISCO to look into the provision of transformers, prepaid meters and ensure that bills reflect customers consumption.

Also present in the meeting includes Lokoja Local Government treasurer, Mallam Isyaku I Umaru, AEDC Head of Commercial, Comrade Segun Medupin, Accountant, Alhaji Nuradeen Ahmed, Regional Head, Technical, Michael Unorumi, Lokoja Area Manager, Mr. Hillary Abah and PRO, Mrs. Ifeaoma Arudi.

Other are representatives of the Light Up Movement Executives in Comrade Iliyasu Zakari, Ibrahim S Nuhu and Saidu Gimba Shaban.
