,,,,,,IGP presents over N39m to 25 families of deceased police officers in Kogi.

The Inspector General of Police,Dr.Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Wednesday in Lokoja, presented cheques worth N39,042,593.07k to the 25 families of deceased police officers in Kogi state.

He was represented at the occasion by the Commissioner of Police Kogi State Police Command, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha.

This is as revealed in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO for the Police Command in the state,SP William Ovevye Aya in Lokoja and copied The Reporters on Wednesday.

While presenting the cheques ,the IGP disclosed that they were part of the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance Schemes, aimed at improving the welfare of the families of deceased Police Officers and to also support Police Officers who became accident victims while carrying out their duty.

According to him, it is also to encourage other Officers in active service to be diligent.

The CP further stated that, the Nigeria Police Force recognized the sacrifices made by the deceased Officers as well as those who were accident victims to secure the Nation.

He urged the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but make judicious use of it for the betterment of their families.

Responding,the beneficiaries appreciated the IGP for the gestured with a promise to make juse of the money for the benefits of their families.
