Photospeak: 1st 2024 quarterly food palliatives begin in kogi.

,,,Let the poor breathe, governor Ododo pleads.

The first 2024 Kogi State food palliatives kicked off on Tuesday in Lokoja with the Governor of the, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo launching the programme and warning against diverting the food meant to better the lot of indigents in the state.
He also warned against politicisation of the the rice, adding that they were meant to be distracted, through the 21 local governments and 329 words,without religious inclination so that the poor can breathe through the initiative.
According to him,the palliatives are meant for the people, especially the poor,adding that the poor should be allowed to breathe by virtue of the distribution of the palliatives.
The governor said his administration had put in place water tight measures to guard against diversion of the palliatives so that it could get to the people through out the state.
Ododo commended the President,Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unwavering support in ensuring the distribution of the palliatives, for the indigent members of the communities in the state.
Tinubu’s initiative,he said, exemplified his commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of Nigerians.
“This initiative is coming at a time that our administration is also taking enduring measures to guarantee food security in our state by working on long time agricultural development, to increase food and livestock production,” Ododo said.
Our Correspondent reports that the event, drew the attention of traditional rulers, top government functionaries,politicians, religious leaders, commissioners, academics,top judicial officers, members of the state legislature,labour leaders and other members of the society.
The event kicked-off at Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre, Lokoja.
