—A wake up call to Governor Ododo and security agents to rise up to the challenge.

Gradually, there have been recurring cases of the return of AK 47 wielding daredevil men of the underworld on our high ways and other major link roads across Kogi state.
For on Monday, the State Police Command confirmed that two buses going to Abuja from the Eastern part of the country were highjacked and their occupants kidnapped by evil men wielding AK 47 and other dangerous weapons.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, for the command,SP.William Ovie Aya, who said that the command had dispatched its men to go after the kidnappers disclosed that the police had rescued the driver of one of buses.
As at the time of writing this piece this morning,the whole country is still awaiting further development from this scaring news with bated breath.
And this is not an isolated case.
In recent time, there have been rising cases of kidnappings across the state.
Recall that one of the noteworthy achievements of the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello was his sterling performance in the security architecture of the state.
True, the former governor was globally acknowledged as a security conscious leader,a man who successfully waged war against insecurity until his last day in office.
And this feat won him several awards and accolades from many quarters in recognition of his tremendous achievements in the area of insecurity in the state.
Recall that the former governor came into office in 2016 at a time criminal elements held sway and were on rampage in the state.
There were cases of kidnappings ,armed robberies,ritualists, murderous Fulani herdsmen and banditry across the state.
The situation was so bad that travellers were avoiding the major highways and other link roads connecting the state to her neighbouring states, including the federal capital, Abuja.
The man,Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello came and successfully changed the narrative.
Viewed against this background therefore ,it is pertinent for the government of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman to immediately rise up and stamp his commanding authority on this ugly reports of the return of criminal elements in Kogi State.
Kogi State should not be allowed to be a safe haven for criminal elements again.
The security agents should rise up to this ugly development.
We cannot afford to be complacent in the fight against insecurity in the state.
This is a wake up call to all stakeholders in the security architecture in Kogi State.
The task of keeping the state safe is a collective responsibility.
All hands must be on deck.
There is no going back to Egypt.
