The Police Command in Kogi state has issued strong warning to potential trouble makers and miscreants, who may want to disrupt the handing over/inauguration ceremony in Lokoja on Saturday, to think twice and stay clear.
The Reporters reports that Governor Yahaya Bello will hand over the leadership of the state to Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the governor-elect, on January 27,2924 after completing his eight years in office.
The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha, gave the warning on Wednesday in Lokoja in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the command,SP. William Ovie Aya, and made available a copy to The Reporters.
“The Police is ever determined to deal decisively with any miscreant who want to disrupt the peace of the State.
“This is consequent upon the intelligence that reveals that some hoodlums plan to attack guests/visitors who will be attending the inauguration ceremony in the state.
“It was further revealed that the planned attack is aimed at disrupting the peace and thereby create disharmony among the citizens of the state,”he further admonished.
The CP advised those who have issues to ventilate their grievances through legal processes ,adding that any act that would lead to break down of law and order in the state would not be tolerated.
The police boss urged all law-abiding people of the state to continue to collaborate with the police and other security agencies with credible and useful information on anything they reasonably suspect, within their neighborhood, in order to curtail any act of criminality in the State.
