Governor Bello holds last sitting as Chairman, Kogi Exco.

The Governor of Kogi state , Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Wednesday, did his last sitting as the Chairman, Kogi State Executive Council by assenting to ten bills consecutively.
The governor,who performed this executive duty at the EXCO chamber of the Kogi Government House in Lokoja, said the various laws would assist the incoming administration and the entire Kogi state

He expressed optimism that, as a people kogites would realize their dreams and aspirations.

He also the confidence “When the laws are implemented, Kogi will not be the same again”.

Bello looked forward to a financial independence state, where Kogi will not depend on a revenue allocation from the federation account.

Earlier, the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly,Alhaji Aliyu Umar Yusuf, along with other lawmakers, presented the bills for Governor Yahaya Bello”s assent.
These bills are:

1. A law to repeal the Kogi State Internal Revenue, harmonisation of taxes,duties,levies,rates,fees and charges due to the state revenue appeal to law 2017 and to reenact the revenue administration and other matters connecting to there with 2024.

2. A law to make provision for the revenue and expenditure of the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State for the year ending 31 December 2024 and other matters connected there with..
3 To make provision for supplementary appropriation to 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State ending 31 December 2023 and other matters connected with 2023.
4. A law to establish College of Education Technical, Mopa, Kogi State and other matters related there with law 2024.
5. A law to provide Kogi State free examinations registration fees and other matters related there with law 2024.
6.A law to repeal and reenact Kogi State Area court law 1991 and other matters related there with law 2024
7. A law to enact Kogi State Animal Disease Control and other matters connected with law 2024.
8.A law to provide for the enactment of Kogi State land use charge and other matters connected with.
9. A law to amend Kogi State Shariah court of 2020 .
10. A law to amend magistrate court.
