ABU Alumni Association, kogi state branch, has congratulated the new Ohimege-Igu of Kotonkarfe, His Royal Highness,Mallam Seidu Akawo Salihu, over his appointment.
Our correspondent gathered that the new traditional ruler is a member of the association and has held leadership position in the association before new appointment.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary of the branch, Alhaji D. U Ahmed in Lokoja on Friday on behalf of the branch.

Ahmed quoted the chairman of the association in the state, Engr. Abdulsalam Mohammed Sagir, as having congratulated the new traditional ruler, pointing out that the appointment bestowed on him “is well deserved”.
He described the new Ohimege-Igu as a worthy graduate of ABU, Zaria adding that he had made tremendous achievements in private and public life as well as contributed immensely to kogi state, aims and objectives of the association,among other efforts.
The chairman urged the people of Kotonkarfe to support their new traditional to enable him chart a new and meaningful course for the development of the area and its people.
He prayed Almighty Allah to protect, guide,guard the new Ohimege -Igu, make his reign peaceful, enhance his vision, mission and wisdom to enable him lead his people well.
The new traditional ruler has been turbaned in kotonkarfe.
Adding voice in a statement, the Secretary General of the association,world wide, Dr.Danjuma Mahmud said:”We rejoice with the new Ohimege – Igu.
“He was at one time Chairman of the Kogi Branch while I served as Branch Secretary.
“HRM Alhaji Seidu Akawu Salihu is passionate about his Alma mater and the ABU Alumni Association. “May Allah be with you during your reign. Congratulations!”
Our correspondent recalls that the Kogi state governor,Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Monday in Lokoja, announced Mallam Seidu Akawo Salihu as the new Ohimege-Igu of Kotonjarfe,following the removal of the former occupant of the stool, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto by the state government.
