ABU Alumni Association,Kogi,hits ground running,2 Committees Submit Reports.

The Electoral Committee and Caretaker Committee for ABU Alumni Association,Kogi State branch,on Thursday, submitted their reports to the new Chairman of the association,Engr.Mohammed Sagir in Lokoja,the state capital.
Submitting that of the Caretaker Committee,the Chairman,Dr.Danjuma Mahmud, advised the new executive council of the association to embark on activities aimed at increasing membership of the body.
He said: Membership drive is very crucial in every organization. This can be achieved by not only reaching out to members but by bringing up periodic programmes and activities on contemporary issues and/or on what members may benefit directly.”

He also urged the Sagir-led exco to endeavor to secure office for the branch.
“There is nothing as dignifying as living in your house.One of the key priorities of the branch executive council,BEC, should be to securing an office/secretarial accomodation for the branch, either through renting or building one,” he added.
Mahmud thanked members, especially those who donated generously and who participated actively, bringing about the successes recorded so far.
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee,Mal. Adama Yahaya,who is also submitted the report of his committee to the chairman, thanked members of the branch for reposing confidence in the committee by entrusting such an important assignment to its members.
Responding,the chairman commended the two committees for carrying out their assignment deligently and to the satisfaction of the members.
He said his exco had hit ground running by mapping out various ways of achieving greater heights for the branch.
According to him, the branch has named Council of Elders for the branch whose members, the exco would tap their wealth experience, in form advice, to move the association forward among others planned activities.
He, therefore, appealed to members to be more committed to the cause of the branch, through prompt and increased attendance at meeting as well as other activities they might be called upon to undertake for the general good of the branch.
