First Lady congratulates kogi governor-elect, Ododo, urges upholding people’s trust.

The First lady, Sen. Remi Tinubu, has congratulated the governor-elect of kogi state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, describing his electoral victory as a showcase of the desire of people of the state for continuity and consolidation.
She stated this when the Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Ododo paid her a courtesy visit at the State House, Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.
The First lady advised Ododo to uphold the trust placed in him by the people and the party by ensuring the fulfillment of his campaign promises.
Earlier,Governor Bello had conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her instrumental support in mobilizing women and other crucial stakeholders to vote for Ododo during the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State.
He expressed confidence that Ododo, after his inauguration on January 27, 2024, would bring pride to Kogi women, the party, and the people of the state.
Contributing,the Governor-elect assured the First lady of his affirm commitment to uphold the trust bestowed upon him by the people.
The governor-elect expressed gratitude to the First lady for her support and stressed the pivotal role women would play in his administration.
He said areas of focus of his administration would include poverty reduction, primary healthcare delivery, and addressing infant and maternal health concerns in the state.
On November 12, 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Ahmed Usman Ododo the winner of the election,securing the highest number of lawful votes of 446,237 to defeat other candidates.
Our correspondent recalls that Ododo,the 5th democratically elected governor of kogi state, received his Certificate of Return
on November 18, from the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, and has embarked on ‘Thank you’ visits to stakeholders who contributed immensely to his electoral victory.
