Kogi Gov’ship election: Ebira People in Lokoja Drum Support for Ododo.

In what looks like a family gathering of Ebira people under the umbrella of Ebira People’s Association EPA in their multitudes,on Thursday gathered at the Government House, Lokoja to reaffirm their support for All Progressives Congress APC candidate in th November 11 governorship election, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Receiving the mammoth of supporters, the Governor of the state,Alhaji Yahaya Bello, applauded the association’s commitment and determination in supporting Ododo’s candidature.
He, however, cautioned the group to observe decorum in their speech and ensure peace.
He reminded them that campaign period is to enhance unity and cordiality amongst the people from different ethnic extractions.
Comrade Moses Momoh,state chairman, Ebira People’s Association, said “the group’s affirmation to Ododo’s candidature was not ethnicity based but the belief that he would sustain and build on the legacies of Governor Yahaya Bello, who has an agenda for homogeneous distribution of state resources without prejudice”.
Momoh said “The Ebiras in Lokoja constitute forty per cent of voting capacity in Lokoja. Ebira alone can ensure victory of any candidate,if the volume of their votes is in one place”.
An Ebira leader in Lokoja, Alhaji Mohammed Otue, stated that EPA had commenced door to door campaign in Lokoja to ensure electoral victory for Ododo.
He appreciated the governor on his numerous support for the development of the association as well as his administration’s good governance .
He appealed for more consideration and empowerment for enira youths and women in order to stimulate the growth of their economic activities.
Our correspondent gathered that no fewer than 20 groups under the umbrella of EPA, political stakeholders and title holders attended the occasion,
