Tribunal judgement: IPAC Chairman calls for calm in Nasarawa.

The Nasarawa State Chairman, Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Hon. Cletus Ogah on Tuesday, called on the people to maintain peace, shoe love to one another and restrain from provocative utterances capable of hitting the polity ,in the interest of the state.
Hon. Ogah, in an interview with Journalists in Lafia while reacting to the tribunal judgement that annulled the election of governor Abdullahi Sule on Monday, said peaceful co-existence is what the state required at this crucial moment of the state.
The IPAC Chairman explained that the tribunal’s verdict on the petition filed by the PDP candidate in the March election and the subsequent judgement should not be used to divide the state along religious, political and ethnic lines.
He said the judgement should be seen as a test of faith and means of strengthening the bond unity and enhancing peace in Nasarawa state.
“IPAC as an advisory body of the All political parties in the state has the statutory mandate to ensure peaceful co-existence amongst the political parties and strategically places itself in the position of mediation in a matter like this.
“We should use the outcome of the judgement to unite ourselves, ensure peace rather than a means to divide ourselves along political lines. Let the parties involved caution their supporters against action that could jeopardize the unity of the people,” he further.advised
According to Hon. Ogah, the interest of the state and the people should be paramount in whatever level of decision taking by the parties involved rather than personal interest for the interest of the development of Nasarawa and other benefits.
He assured that IPAC in Nasarawa state would not fold its arms and watch political activities degenerate into ethnic, religious inclinations and called on other parties in the state to support the activities of the body to ensure that the dream of establishing the council is realized.
“IPAC, under my leadership has always maintained that, Nasarawa state is our heritage and therefore will resist any attempt to derail the process of good governance.
He urged the governor, the candidate of the People’s Democratic party to continue to demonstrate good leadership in the state and remain unity in their quest for the betterment of the state.
“We salute the good people of Nasarawa State for their resilience, peaceful disposition towards the development of the state,”he added.
