Members of the Ahmadu Bello University,Alumni Association,kogi state branch,have expressed determination to inject life into the association which went into limbo some years ago.

Our correspondent reports that towards this end, members have inaugurated a 5-member electoral committee, charged with the responsibility of conducting election for the emergence of a new executive council of the branch soon.
The terms of reference of the electoral committee include, working out the electoral guide lines in accordance with articles 8 and 9 of the Constitution which are clear on the election and eligibility of members for contesting election.
The committee is also mandated to reach out to more members, to create more awareness about the planned election.

The other mandate is to determine the date for the election, affirming the credibility and eligibility of contestants in accordance with the constitution among other functions.
Members of the electoral committee are: Alhaji Adama Yahaya,Chairman, Hajiya Amina Ali Haruna, Ustaz Usman Umar Ogbo, Com.Ogbeun Joseph B and Abdul Nasir Bade.
The Chairman of the committee,who briefed the meeting on the efforts of his committee on the journey so far in accomplishing the terms of its reference,said members deliberated on the logistics, conduct and cost of the exercise among others.
Alhaji Yahaya,therefore, solicited the support of members to enable the committee realise its aims and objectives.
Also speaking, during the revived monthly meeting of the branch, at NBA secretariat in Lokoja on Thursday,the Caretaker Chairman of the branch,Dr.Danjuma Mahmud, who presided over the meeting,stressed the need for members to be more committed,morally and otherwise, to the concerted efforts to revive the branch from limbo.
He, however, expressed delight that some members who had not been attending the meeting showed up at the meeting ,a development he described as a sign of determination of members to bring back the branch to life.
Our correspondent reports that the alumni,which has its members holding high calibre positions in the public and private sectors of the economy of the state, was established shortly after the creation of kogi state 32 years.
Many members of the alumni branch have identified inadequate commitment by many of them as the biggest factor that militates against its growth and development but determined to change the narrative for good.
Members agreed to meet on August 17, in continuation of efforts to elect new exco for the branch to forge ahead again.
