Okhai, Re-elected As President, Nigeria Directors Guild.

The Directors Guild of Nigeria, championing the Nollywood industry in the country, has re-elected Dr. Victor Okhai as President.

Okhai was returned unopposed at an election on the sidelines of DGN annual conference in Benin, Edo State.

The event, which held with the theme, “Charting New African Narratives,” at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, brought together filmmakers and practitioners, arts and culture administrators, culture enthusiasts, and thespians from across the country and beyond.

The event also saw the launching of the first ever DGN Academy Journal, entitled, “Nollywood practice” which documents the history of one of the world’s fastest-growing movie industries with an annual output of approximately 1,800 films.

The journal was produced in partnership with Igbinedion University Okada, Edo State.

The election saw the former National Secretary, Mr. Uchenna Agbo, returned as Vice President.

Former Public Relations Officer of the Guild, Mr. Perekeme Odon, was elected National Secretary with Comrade Ofia Mbaka winning the position of Assistant National Secretary.

Other officials elected were, Mr. Osita Okoli(National Treasurer), Mr. Jeremiah Onoge (Public Relations Officer), Mr. Daniel Chukwueze(Provost), Mr. John Paul Nwanganga(Director of Social/Welfare), and Ms Gold Dappa(Financial Secretary).
