Conscious of their civic responsibility,as citizens, towards ensuring credible electíons this year, eligible voters in kogi state have been trooping to various registration areas/wards to collect their Permanent Voter’s card, PVC, in readiness for the planned, all important national political assignment.
Our Correspondent,who monitored the exercise at Anebo quarters in Lokoja on Thursday, however, noted that the exercise, though peaceful as at the time of this report, was characterised by complains.
The bulk of the complaints came from eligible voters who claimed to have registered at Gadumo LGEA primary school in Ajaokuta Local Governnent Area of the state.
Many eligible voters, in separate interview with The Reporters, expressed disappointment that they could not collect their PVC due to what they described as the fault from officials charged with the responsibility of giving PVC to them.
According to them, the officials sort of mixed the PVC vis a vis, the right registration units) wards,a development they noted made it difficult for them to locate their PVC.
Mr Michael Ozigi, who said he had gone to Anebo quarters to collect his PVC, twice without success, expressed the fear that if such development continues, many eligible voters would be denied their foundamental right to vote in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
He called on INEC to look into the issue with a view to rectifying it before the elections.
