By Muhammad M. Idris.

An Islamic Scholar, Ustaz Ustaz Okino, has advised Muslims to intensify efforts in establishing their five daily prayers and to show love and care to the orphans and the vulnerable people in the society.

He gave the advice during the recently during the 2023 annual birthday celebration of the noble Prophet of Islam organised by the Idrisiyya Islamic School, Okene, Kogi State.

Okino, who is also a barrister, added that these are the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad who every Muslim see as a role model and must be emulated.

The Islamic scholar has said that the Qur’an, the Holy Book of Islam, came from God to the world through Prophet Muhammad (SAW), saying that “celebrating his birthday is sacrosanct and useful to all Muslims.”

He pointed out that Moulud activities in Ebiraland, in the olden days, were observed once in a year and in one place, “but today, Moulud celebration has increased significantly and it is being celebrated everywhere.”

He expressed joy at the rate muslims honour and shower their love on the personality of our noble Prophet which the Qu’ran acknowledges as mercy and grace among mankind.

Ustaz Okino, who analysed in detail, “Tafsir of Suratul Ad-Dhuhaa, Qu’ran 93Vs1-11″noted that this particular chapter is dedicated in reassurance to our beloved noble Prophet (SAW) that his Lord will never ever abandon him. See below the full chapter of the Qu’ran:

-By the morning brightness.

-And by the night when it covers with darkness.

-Your Lord has not taken leave of you, *O Muhammad* nor has he detested you.

-And the hereafter is better for you than the first life.

-And your Lord is going to give you until you will be satisfied.

-Did he not find you an orphan and give refuge?

-And he found you lost and guided you.

-And he found you poor and made you self-sufficient.

-So as for the orphan, do not oppress.

-And as for the petitioner, do not repel on him.

-But as for the favour of your lord, report it.

The scholar emphasized on one of the ayah in “suratul ad-duhaa, where Allah said:” Wa la sawfa y’ uteeka rabbuka fatardor” meaning “And your Lord is going to give you until you will be satisfied”, this particular ayah according to the speaker is a solace to all the believers of Islamic faith.

This is because, the noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: He will not rest until he intercedes to make sure all the faithfuls are freed from the condemnation in hell fire, while praying to Almighty Allah to bless Ebiraland, Kogi State, and Nigeria at large. He also prayed for peace, unity and progress of the central senatorial district of Kogi State.

Also, speaking at the event, Ustaz Engr. Suleiman Ovurevu, charged Muslim parents to train their children in the ways of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to enable them enjoy God’s blessing in this world and hereafter.

Ovurevu, who described the Holy Prophet Muhammad as a gift from Almighty Allah to the entire world, said as a model to all Muslims, it had become imperative and compulsory to all Muslim Ummah to train their children on the virtues and deeds of the Prophet.

According to him, the Qur’an describes whoever refuses to accept the Holy Prophet (SAW) as the worst animal that would not enjoy God’s favour both in this world and hereafter.

He, therefore, called on Muslims to follow the teachings of Islam as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In his closing remarks, Ustaz Muhammad Mukhtar Idris, one of the children of the initiator of Idrisiyya Islamic School (Alhaji Idris Abdulsalam), said “we, the entire Idrisiyya Islamic School Ummah, appreciated” our meritorious and impeccable lovers of our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for their individual contributions toward the successful hosting of 2023 annual Moulud.

“We sincerely thank you all for coming both physically and spiritually. May Allah ta’ala never debase us from the love of our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW)”.
